How we handle your information
Kayem.co is a small handmade shop. We keep this simple because what we do with your information is simple.
The custom-order form
When you use our custom order form, we collect what you type in — your name, email, product interest, quantity, and project details — plus any files you choose to upload, like a logo or QR code. We use it all for one thing — replying to you about your request. Submissions and uploaded files are delivered to us and may be stored by Netlify Forms, the service that powers the form.
Analytics
We use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics to understand aggregate site traffic — things like which pages are visited and how often people click through to our Etsy shop. It does not use cookies, and it does not build personal profiles of visitors.
What we don't do
We do not sell personal data. We do not run ad-tracking pixels.
Payments
If you order directly from us, payments may be processed by third-party providers such as Square, Stripe, or Etsy. Payment details go to the processor — Kayem.co does not see or store full card numbers.
Checkout happens on Etsy
Purchases are completed on Etsy, which is its own store with its own policies. Anything you do there — payment, shipping details, messages — is covered by Etsy's terms and privacy policy, not ours.
Backpack return tags
If you set up a Kayem backpack tag, we store the tag's display label, the short message shown to finders, and your notification preference against your Kayem account. Kayem's public tag page and public API do not display or return your email address to the person who scans the tag.
When someone scans a tag and sends a message, we forward what they typed — the situation they selected, an optional "where it is" line, and an optional short note — to the tag owner's email address using Resend (our email delivery provider). Links are not accepted in those fields; if the sender chooses to type a way to reach them, such as a phone number, it appears in that forwarded email. The finder form runs Cloudflare Turnstile to block automated abuse; Turnstile processes limited device and network signals needed to distinguish people from automated traffic, and it does not receive what the finder types into the form. We do not request or collect device GPS coordinates or automatic location data. A finder may choose to type a location description into the form.
To prevent abuse we keep a short delivery log for each attempt — time, what kind of notification it was, a one-way keyed hash of the sender's network address, and the delivery outcome. We retain that delivery-log metadata for no more than 30 days and then delete it. Kayem does not store the finder's location or note text in the tag-event database; that text is processed to deliver the notification email, and Resend and the recipient's email provider may process and retain the email or associated operational records under their respective policies. Tag owners can turn notifications off at any time from the tag setup page. To delete a tag entirely, email us (below); deleting a tag removes its settings and any remaining delivery-log entries.
Tag data lives in the same account database as your Kayem account and is covered by the same deletion requests described below.
